The function

As a crane operator, you are responsible for operating the crane in such a way as to comply with safety, environmental and quality regulations. You take care of storage and transhipment, load production machines and unload and load trucks and ships.

With your experience as a crane operator, you have a great foundation. Are you still learning? Then we would like to offer you the opportunity to train as a Shredder Operator in addition to your job as a crane operator. We will be happy to teach you the tricks of the trade so that you will be able to solve problems and carry out maintenance on the machines. In short, a versatile role where you can combine your passion for the crane with your technical knowledge and skills.

You are eager to learn, independent, have good communication skills and are technically minded. You have a great sense of responsibility towards your work.

We ask

- Preferably a completed technical education.

- Experience working on a hydraulic crane, shovel and forklift.

- Command of the Dutch language (or willing to master it).

- In possession of a forklift certificate or willing to obtain one.

- Affinity with engineering and metals.

- Metal knowledge is a plus.

Your role

In this position, you will be the hub of our production process, operating and maintaining our sorting facilities. You keep the overview, ensure that everything runs smoothly and monitor the quality of both the material and the process. Depending on the production line, you will manage a small team, working together to ensure flawless production.

You also work with a forklift truck and contribute to a neat and organised work floor. You like to roll up your sleeves and help your colleagues where necessary, so that the team is strong.

With us, you will work in a dynamic 2-shift operation, where no two days are the same!

What are your main tasks?

  • Operate and maintain the entire sorting plant(s) to ensure an efficient and reliable production process.
  • Oversee the quality of materials and the production process, intervening in a timely manner in case of deviations.
  • Managing a small team of employees on the production line and ensuring smooth cooperation.
  • Working with the forklift to move materials and products within the production area.
  • Contribute to order and cleanliness on the shop floor, ensuring a safe and organised working environment.

Your profile

  • MBO work and thinking level, preferably in a technical field.
  • Experience in operating technical equipment within a production environment.
  • Command of the Dutch language or willingness to master it.
  • Affinity with engineering and metals. Knowledge of metals is an advantage, but not essential; we will be happy to train you.
  • You are enthusiastic, can work well together, have an active attitude and also have a good sense of humour.
