A job for people with confidence and no fear of heights: we are looking for a crane operator. You will load production machines, trucks and ships from your office with the best view. After an extensive induction programme, as a crane operator you will be responsible for loading production machines, storing and transferring materials and independently loading and unloading lorries and ships. On a daily basis, you will also be involved in assessing, inspecting and correctly and efficiently sorting incoming materials. You do this together in a team with enthusiastic colleagues. Do you already have experience in assessing, inspecting and sorting metals? Then that is an advantage, otherwise we will simply train you for this. 

As a Crane operator, you are:

● Accurate, committed and safety-conscious. 

● Careful with the machines you work with.

● In possession of a forklift certificate or willing to obtain one.

- Experienced in working on a hydraulic crane, shovel and forklift.

What do we expect from you?

As a person, you are independent, quality-conscious, communicative and technically minded. You have a great sense of responsibility towards your work, but you are also a real team player. In addition, you are able to work with other production machines, such as a forklift/shovel and contribute to a neat and efficient yard. Further:

● Do you enjoy maintaining your machine.

● Do you have experience and affinity with cranes.

● Help your colleagues where necessary. 

● Act in accordance with safety, environmental and quality requirements. 

It's nice if you:

● Possesses metal knowledge.

MBO work and thinking level (preferably an education in a technical direction and/or Vapro A).

● Speaks Dutch or willing to master the language.

● Living near Amsterdam.

Your role

Your role

As an Operational Employee Non-Ferrous, you will be responsible for assessing, inspecting and sorting metals such as copper, aluminium and stainless steel. You will ensure that materials are processed correctly and contribute to the quality control and analysis of Non-Ferrous materials.

You work with machines such as a crane, forklift or shovel and are technically minded. Do you already have experience in inspecting and sorting metals? Then that is an advantage! If not, we will train you internally. Maintaining your machine is also part of your duties, so you can work efficiently and safely.

What are your main tasks?

Your role

Jij bent de onmisbare schakel die ervoor zorgt dat ons moderne machinepark altijd blijft draaien. Geen dag is hetzelfde: de ene keer spoor je een mechanische of elektrotechnische storing op en los je deze vakkundig op, de andere keer voer je een reparatie of vervanging uit zodat de installatie weer als nieuw functioneert. Daarnaast houd je je bezig met preventief onderhoud, zodat storingen zoveel mogelijk worden voorkomen, en draag je bij aan revisies en verbeteringen van onze machines. Zo zorg jij ervoor dat we steeds slimmer en duurzamer kunnen blijven produceren.

Je werkt veel zelfstandig en krijgt daarbij de vrijheid om je eigen werk in te delen, maar je staat er nooit alleen voor. Je schakelt regelmatig met collega’s in de productie en de technische dienst, en stuurt waar nodig externe partijen aan.   • Oplossen van mechanische en elektrotechnische storingen (ook op stuurstroom- en motorniveau).
  • Uitvoeren van reparaties, aanpassingen en revisies.
  • Registreren en bijhouden van werkzaamheden in Ultimo.
  • Verrichten van preventief onderhoud volgens planning.
  • Meedenken over verbeteringen en melden van terugkerende storingen.
  • Zorgen voor een veilige en nette werkplek.

As a crane operator at HKS Amsterdam, you will work in a unique and innovative working environment on our advanced TSR 40 production line. Here, you will not only be responsible for operating the crane, but also for inspecting and sorting metals and supporting the production process. You will be trained internally as a TSR 40 specialist, so that you will learn and master all facets of this special line.
