Why work at HKS?

Teamwork, personal development and innovation are woven into the culture of HKS. Working at HKS means plenty of opportunities, with consideration given to your personal development and growth ambitions.

Do you want to work together towards a safe and sustainable future, while also achieving your professional ambitions? Then come and work at HKS and make a difference every day at the market leader in metal recycling! HKS is part of the Remondis/Rethmann group.

Your role

Together with your colleagues from the Technical Department, you ensure that our machines and rolling stock keep running. If there is a breakdown in an installation, crane, shredder or other machine, then you are the one who solves it. Mechanical, hydraulic or electrical engineering – you're up for it. You carry out repairs, overhauls and modifications, and ensure that everything runs safely and reliably again.

We are looking for mechanics who enjoy tinkering. People who don't mind lying under a machine, getting up with dirty hands, and just tackling a fault. You are someone who gets energised by technology, who likes to be hands-on and who doesn't stop until the problem is solved.

With your technical background, you think in terms of solutions. You plan your work well and maintain an overview. Additionally, you contribute to improvements to our installations and equipment. Do you have ideas to make things smarter or better? At HKS, you'll also have the freedom to get started on those yourself.

You'll join a down-to-earth and technically strong team where everyone rolls up their sleeves. We help each other out, work hard, and there's always room for a joke now and then.

What are your main tasks?

  • Locating and resolving mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults in machines and installations.
  • Performing preventive maintenance, repairs and overhauls on machine lines and rolling stock.
  • Implementing technical adjustments and improvements to installations and equipment.
  • Identifying recurring faults and proposing structural solutions.
  • Assisting with the installation and commissioning of new machinery or technical installations.

We offer

  • Working at a close-knit family business where employees are central and we are there for each other.
  • A varied role in a team where your input is valued.
  • A competitive salary and excellent benefits including company fitness and bicycle plan.
  • 27 holidays based on 40 hours per week.
  • Lots of room for personal development.

Your profile

  • You have MBO (intermediate vocational education) work and thinking level and a technical background.
  • Your command of the Dutch language.
  • You have experience with 5S and/or Lean.
  • Besides having an affinity for engineering and metals, you also have experience in electrical and control engineering.
  • You have a good sense of humour and can work as part of a team.
